Current Status of Religious Education in Schools in Ecuador

This research project, developed by the Salesian Polytechnic University, evaluated the current state of School Religious Education (ERE) at the Basic General Education and Unified General Baccalaureate levels in Ecuador. Addressing the need for pedagogical updating, the study analyzed current curricular standards and their practical implementation in the classroom. The methodological approach allowed for the identification of strengths and limitations of the current training proposal, providing a critical foundation for the creation of new teacher training programs. The project highlights the importance of linking religious education with the sociocultural reality of students, promoting a dialogue that fosters universal fraternity and social cohesion. As a result, the study offers valuable inputs for the Ecuadorian Episcopal Conference and the educational community, consolidating the university's commitment to improving educational quality and reducing inequalities. The research culminated in the publication of scientific results, serving as a benchmark for future educational policies in the field.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>Analyze the current state of School Religious Education in Ecuador to identify strengths and limitations in its curricular application.
