Project Details
Description
This research project focuses on the quantification and detailed study of body movement neuromotors in patients diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease (PD). The primary goal is to overcome the limitations of previous studies, which used small sample sizes, by developing robust technological solutions for objective tremor monitoring. The methodology spans from reviewing the state of the art and identifying key parameters (frequency, amplitude) to studying sensors and development tools. Progress has been made using technologies such as cell phones, the Xbox Kinect, smartwatches with Android applications, and wireless devices based on Arduino, as part of the internal project "MORENO". The project will culminate in the design, development, and evaluation of a comprehensive acquisition and monitoring system, including gait analysis and the proposal of a classification model based on the results obtained, aiming to provide neurologists with precise quantification for correct medication dosing.

Goal:
To quantify and study the neuromotors of body movement in patients with Parkinson's Disease (PD) through the design and validation of remote monitoring systems.

Research lines:
Telemedicine
