Critical thinking as a cross-cutting axis of education for cognitive, social, intercultural, political, and technological development

This research project, led by the Philosophy of Education Research Group (GIFE) at the Salesian Polytechnic University, addresses the concerning decline of critical thinking in contemporary educational systems. Faced with the proliferation of unverified information and the impact of digital globalization, the project identifies an urgent need to systematize pedagogical approaches that allow students to analyze, evaluate, and reflect on information objectively. The methodology employed is qualitative and mixed, combining bibliographic reviews, field studies, grounded theory, and phenomenological-hermeneutic methods. The project's scope is both national and international, involving teachers, researchers, and students in the creation of an Observatory of Philosophy of Education and Innovation. Expected results include the publication of books, book chapters, and scientific articles indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. The primary impact focuses on transforming the cognitive matrix of educational subjects, promoting comprehensive training that empowers citizens to face current social, political, and technological challenges with autonomy and analytical rigor.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To propose theoretical foundations and effective pedagogical strategies that improve the development of critical thinking in educational processes, integrating its relationship with complex society, cultural diversity, technology, and educational innovation.
