Continuing Education Program for Teachers in Philosophy, Art, and Literature of the Network of Schools of the Archdiocese of Guayaquil and Others (PROFIREA)

Project Details

Description

This project addresses significant methodological and pedagogical shortcomings identified among teachers in the Archdiocese of Guayaquil school network, set against the backdrop of ongoing changes in Ecuadorian Education (Curricular Reform, Quality Standards). The core issue stems from documented student deficiencies in critical thinking, analytical capacity, reflection, and daily problem-solving skills. The primary goal is to strengthen the philosophical, artistic, and humanistic competencies of the teaching staff. The proposed solution involves designing continuing education courses, employing a methodology that incorporates collaborative planning, brainstorming, continuous review and control, and motivational support. The expected outcome is that this faculty enhancement will facilitate the implementation of innovative educational strategies, thereby raising the level of criticality and creativity in students, ultimately contributing to improved quality of life and the development of critical, supportive citizens.

Goal:
To develop the academic competencies of teachers in the areas of philosophy, art, and humanities within the Archdiocese of Guayaquil school network through the design and implementation of continuing education courses.

Research lines:
Philosophy of education
