Characterization of the Inclusion/Exclusion Process in University Youth of the IUS Network (Phase 3)

This research project addresses the need for a unified theoretical framework to understand social exclusion, focusing specifically on its structural and subjective dimensions within the university educational context. The study targets young adults aged 18 to 24 from five universities within the IUS Network (Chile, Ecuador, Brazil, Bolivia, and El Salvador). A mixed methodology is employed, beginning with a qualitative phase rooted in social discourse research. This phase utilizes open-ended interviews and focus groups to gather narratives regarding experiences of inclusion/exclusion. This approach aims to construct a "cartography" of youth/student discourse, interpreting narratives as expressions of structural and subjective positions. The information gathered in this first stage will serve as the foundation for the second phase: the development and validation of a psychometric instrument designed to measure the degrees of inclusion/exclusion. Final results will be disseminated through an international seminar and the publication of a book and indexed articles, alongside establishing a THEMATIC NETWORK for research on youth inclusion/exclusion.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To understand the continuities and discontinuities of the structural and subjective dimensions of the inclusion/exclusion phenomenon within the educational environment of young university students across five universities belonging to the IUS Network in Latin America.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Indigenous language, education and interculturality
