Description
This project addresses the need for efficient energy management at the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (UPS) SUR Campus by implementing a centralized monitoring and predictive maintenance system. Faced with challenges regarding operational inefficiencies and unforeseen failures in renewable generation systems, a solution was developed that integrates sensors, real-time monitoring platforms, thermography, and 3D scanning.
The methodology included sizing a robust communication network and performing technical inspections of solar panels to detect structural failures early. This approach allows for reduced downtime, optimized equipment performance, and lower costs associated with late corrective maintenance.
As a result, the project has strengthened the campus's technological infrastructure and generated significant academic impact through the publication of articles in indexed journals (Scopus Q1/Q2/Q3). Furthermore, it promotes environmental sustainability by reducing the carbon footprint and fosters a culture of innovation among students and faculty, establishing the campus as an applied learning environment for renewable energy.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>Develop and implement a centralized monitoring and predictive maintenance system to optimize renewable energy management at the UPS SUR Campus.
