Application of Legal and Forensic Psychology in Profiling Aggressors in Crimes Against Sexual Integrity

This project addresses the critical need to strengthen Legal and Forensic Psychology in Ecuador by creating clinical-forensic profiles of sexual offenders. Given the lack of locally validated tools, the study uses a mixed-methods approach to analyze psychopathological variables, executive functions, and dynamic risk factors. The research aims to bridge the gap between international scientific evidence and Ecuadorian judicial practice, providing technical inputs for judges and mental health professionals. The study is based on the hypothesis that mental disorders, impulsivity, and cognitive distortions significantly influence criminal behavior. Through standardized psychometric instruments and expert interviews, it aims to improve diagnostic accuracy and recidivism risk management. This interdisciplinary approach seeks not only to optimize the administration of justice but also to promote evidence-based prevention strategies. Expected results include the publication of scientific articles and book chapters, as well as the generation of forensic evaluation protocols adapted to the local context. The project directly impacts the academic training of students and professionals, fostering a more equitable, effective, and humane judicial system in addressing sexual violence.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>Develop an integrative model for the identification and characterization of clinical-forensic profiles of offenders in crimes against sexual integrity in Ecuador.
