Anthropological Approach to Breastfeeding: Case Studies Among Students and Workers at the Salesian Polytechnic University (Phase 2)

This multidisciplinary research project addresses the challenges of breastfeeding within the university environment, focusing on students and workers across three specific institutions. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the study aims to quantify the factors that enable or impede breastfeeding and qualitatively understand the lived experiences of these women. The ultimate goal is to generate robust data to justify the creation and implementation of effective institutional lactation rooms, thereby mitigating the negative consequences of early mother-infant separation, such as stress, interruption of breastfeeding, and increased student or job attrition. The investigation is structured into preparatory phases, fieldwork (survey application and qualitative data collection), and analysis, intending to propose evidence-based solutions to deficient institutional policies supporting motherhood and lactation.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To gather detailed quantitative and qualitative information regarding the practices, beliefs, and influencing factors related to the breastfeeding situation among students and workers at the Catholic, Politécnica Nacional, and Salesiana universities.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Anthropological studies
