Description

Non-carious cervical lesions represent a multifactorial clinical challenge, often associated with biomechanical forces due to the lack of disocclusive guides and traumatic oral hygiene habits. This observational, cross-sectional research project will evaluate 1000 participants from the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana to determine the statistical correlation between these occlusal factors, brushing practices, and the prevalence of cervical lesions. The study employs a rigorous methodological design including intraoral examinations and validated questionnaires, analyzed using chi-square tests and logistic regression. The research aims to fill a knowledge gap regarding the interaction between biomechanical and behavioral factors, providing scientific evidence to optimize dental diagnosis and treatment. Expected results include the identification of the most harmful hygiene practices and the most common occlusal deficiencies. This knowledge will enable the design of personalized preventive strategies, improving patients' quality of life and reducing the failure rate of long-term cervical restorations.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>Analyze the relationship between non-carious cervical lesions, the absence of disocclusive guides, and oral hygiene techniques within the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana community.
