Analysis of the Leadership Structure in the Manufacturing Economic Activities of the Popular and Solidarity Economy Organizations in Ecuador

This project addresses the critical need to formally investigate the structure and management of leadership within manufacturing Popular and Solidarity Economy Organizations (OEPS) in Ecuador, a sector vital for community economic and social benefit. Despite the longevity of many enterprises, there is a lack of studies identifying the strengths, weaknesses, and practices of their leaders, which affects the consolidation and sustainability of these associations in a competitive market. The study proposes a non-experimental, correlational approach, utilizing a hypothetical-deductive logical model to explain the relationships between member/worker characteristics, personal and motivational factors, and the leadership style of executive directors. The main goal is to determine which leadership practices contribute to organizational, productive, commercial, and solidarity success. It seeks to define the profile of the ideal leader, combining efficient business management with a humanistic and solidarity-based approach, encompassing economic, environmental, and social dimensions. The findings will directly benefit members, workers, and the surrounding community by strengthening management and strategic vision within the sector.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To determine the effect of the leadership structure of Popular and Solidarity Economy Organizations (OEPS) engaged in manufacturing economic activities on their organizational and socio-solidarity success, by studying the relationship between variables to strengthen economic and social management in this Ecuadorian sector.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Popular economy, popular finance and MSMEs
