Description
This project addresses concerns regarding human exposure to low-frequency electric and magnetic fields (EMF) generated by distribution feeders and electrical substations in Ecuador, areas where residential and industrial exposure has been linked to potential health issues. The primary goal is to analyze and quantify EMF exposure in workers operating on these feeders. The proposed solution focuses on mitigating industrial exposure values through the implementation of a reduction technique: the strategic placement of Screen Conductors. The methodology relies on Finite Elements (FE) based simulations to model the distribution feeder, define realistic parameters, and estimate exposure values. Subsequently, the simulated signals will be analyzed to establish an optimal EMF mitigation criterion, seeking the most effective reduction topology to ensure occupational safety.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To analyze the levels of electromagnetic fields (EMF) generated by distribution feeders in Ecuador and determine mitigation strategies, such as the placement of Screen Conductors, to reduce worker exposure according to international standards.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>Optimization and innovation of energy and renewable energies
