Project Details
Description
This multidisciplinary research project aims to address the problem of malnutrition and low knowledge levels regarding nutritious eating practices in Ecuador, focusing specifically on vulnerable populations. The main objective is to design and develop a technological educational game to support the teaching-learning of healthy eating, adapted to the particular needs of children and adolescents served by the Salesian Foundation PACES in Cuenca. The methodology is based on the Design Thinking approach and co-design, ensuring the active participation of beneficiaries and educators to create a relevant, attractive, and usable tool. The project is structured in four phases: literature analysis, complex scenario assessment, iterative design and prototyping, and implementation and evaluation of the game's effectiveness. It is expected that the technological prototype will promote greater interest and retention of knowledge about healthy eating compared to traditional methods, helping to mitigate high malnutrition rates in vulnerable groups.

Goal:
To promote improvements in the teaching-learning process of healthy eating through the development of an educational technological tool adapted to the needs of children and adolescents in situations of educational and economic vulnerability.

Research lines:
Biomechanics
