Project Details
Description
This research project, developed by the GIREI group at the Salesian Polytechnic University, focused on optimizing energy consumption in Block H at the Quito South Campus. Addressing the need to improve institutional energy efficiency, the team implemented a predictive demand model and a hybrid dispatch simulation scheme that integrates solar energy with the conventional electrical grid.
The methodological approach allowed for the evaluation of various operational and tariff scenarios, providing a solid technical foundation for future energy management strategies. The project addressed consumption variability using statistical and mathematical algorithms, facilitating informed decision-making regarding the use of renewable resources.
As a result, the project generated three undergraduate theses and a scientific publication, strengthening the culture of sustainability within the university community. Beyond academic benefits, the developed model is replicable in other buildings, promoting applied innovation and responsible energy use in the national electricity sector.

Goal:
Optimize energy dispatch in Block H of the Salesian Polytechnic University through a predictive consumption model and hybrid management between solar panels and the electrical grid.
