Action: Migrations in Chile and Ecuador (UCSH-UPS) within the Framework of the Institutional Cooperation Framework Agreement

This action-research project focuses on analyzing the migratory phenomenon in Chile and Ecuador, addressing its characteristics from a psychosocial and community viewpoint, under an agreement between the Universidad Católica Silva Henríquez (UCSH) and the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (UPS). The study arises from the need to move beyond the traditional focus on border management and control to understand how the immigrant subject is constructed within relationships of domination and inequality (legal, economic, social). Methodologically, participatory action research is employed, adopting a situated and dialogical knowledge stance, where researchers acknowledge their own ideological biases and value migrant communities as co-creators of reality. The approach is guided by the 'good living' paradigm (sumak alli kaway), seeking to foster an ethic of care and build non-discriminatory relationships, respecting the dignity and rights of people in mobility, in line with the Ecuadorian Constitution of 2008.<br/><br/><b>Goal</b>: <br/>To develop an action-research project, under an inter-institutional cooperation agreement between UCSH and UPS, aimed at understanding the current landscape of the migratory phenomenon in Chile and Ecuador, analyzing its characteristics from a psychosocial and community perspective between October 2018 and September 2019.<br/><br/><b>Research lines</b>: <br/>nan
