Research Interests
Across multiple studies conducted at Ecuadorian universities, the researcher’s program centers on enhancing urban mobility, education technology, and the digital transformation of education and commerce. The work integrates empirical and mixed-methods approaches to (i) identify root causes of youth informality and design educational/policy responses; (ii) develop representative driving cycles for congested cities to improve emission modeling and transport policy; (iii) evaluate driving modes for urban sustainability; (iv) assess and implement shared mobility and carpooling in university settings; (v) analyze e-commerce adoption and AI-driven improvements in Ecuador’s textile sector; and (vi) advance learning resources, online assessment, cloning of courses, and faculty training using ICTs. Methodologies include surveys, interviews, GIS analysis, ArcGIS routing, OBD data collection, PRISMA-based literature reviews, quasi-experimental designs, and descriptive/quantitative analyses. Across topics, the impact lies in providing actionable insights for policy reforms, sustainable transport planning, digital education strategies, and industry digitalization, with a recurring emphasis on practical training, collaboration among academia and industry, and scalable, technology-enhanced solutions that address local conditions in Latin American urban and educational contexts.
