Research Interests
Across multiple projects, the researcher advances manufacturing systems, additive/subtractive processing, and energy/environmental optimization with a strong emphasis on process validation, measurement best-practices, and decision support. The work integrates Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce variability, improve yields, and enhance efficiency in diverse settings—from melt-blown fabric production for masks through precise material characterization and standardized operating conditions to remote maintenance and reliability in PHM-enabled manufacturing. Several studies demonstrate application of computational tools (CFD, FEM, ANSYS Fluent) and data-driven analyses (MANOVA, DMAIC, ANOVA) to optimize equipment performance, piping integrity, heat exchangers, steam systems, solar collectors, and engine components via remanufacturing and design improvements. Collectively, the research highlights sustainable, cost-effective improvements through material-state control, process redesign, energy balancing, and predictive maintenance, with demonstrable gains in throughput, reliability, energy efficiency, and lifecycle extension of components in industrial and power-generation contexts.
