Recent research:
The research focuses on the epistemological foundations of psychology and psychosocial intervention, bridging the gap between empirical data and theoretical constructs. A central theme is the development of a realist epistemology that distinguishes between experiential and theoretical terms, arguing that scientific psychology must integrate sensory data with cognitive models to achieve methodological rigor. This framework is applied to analyze various psychological schools, emphasizing the role of cognitive mediation in transforming sensory input into meaningful representations.
Furthermore, the work explores the intersection of neuroscience and spirituality, examining how religious belief and experience are grounded in the triune brain. By analyzing the interplay between the limbic system, sensory input, and cognitive functions, the research provides an epistemic justification for religious forms, highlighting the necessity of integrating external, emotional, and transcendent dimensions. Finally, this epistemological inquiry extends to the field of psychosocial intervention, particularly within the Ecuadorian context. By employing hermeneutic and analytical methodologies, the research establishes a foundation for evidence-based practice, ensuring that interventions are theoretically sound and contextually relevant.
