Research Interests

Recent research:
The consolidated research profile reflects a sustained focus on the psychology of well-being, education, and methodological practice within educational settings in Quito. Across studies, the work examines how personal and environmental factors influence stress, learning, and development in youths and professionals. Quantitative and qualitative approaches are used to explore: the protective role of pet ownership on student stress; the impact of family and contextual factors on vulnerability to abuse; the relationship between study habits and academic stress among university students; the efficacy and integration of intervention and educational strategies for autism; and perceptions of assessment quality and feedback in pandemic-era learning. A common thread is the emphasis on measurement, bibliometrics, and robust data collection to inform inclusive, evidence-based practice in education and mental health. The research highlights the need for meaningful feedback, multi-method intervention, and context-aware supports to enhance well-being, literacy, and academic success in diverse populations, with implications for policy and teacher training in inclusive pedagogy.
