Recent research:
Across diverse contexts, the work analyzes how socio-sanitary crises—notably COVID-19—exacerbated educational inequalities and shaped the experiences of indigenous students, while also examining media audiences and political communication in Latin America. The research integrates educational theory, technology-enhanced learning (gamification, XR, learning analytics), and inclusive higher education practices to understand institutional responses and strategies that mitigate exclusion during crises. Methodologically, it combines quantitative information, qualitative methods (focus groups, interviews, surveys) and documentary analysis to reveal the dynamics between connectivity, pedagogy, and equity. A strand on media studies investigates audience engagement with culturally situated programming and interrogates folklorist assumptions, employing exploratory, spatial-qualitative designs and bibliometric/measurement considerations within social sciences and communication. Together, these works illuminate how universities and media ecosystems respond to socio-political disruptions by prioritizing inclusion, interculturality, and evidence-informed practice in education and public discourse, with implications for policy, program design, and future research in Latin America and beyond.
