Personal profile
Research Interests
Integrated with a sustainability-driven framework, the researcher foregrounds Environmental Management Systems across higher education and agricultural-adjacent settings, aligning institutional practices with Pope Francis’ Laudato Si’ principles and Salesian guidelines. The work synthesizes campus-level environmental characterization, diagnostic checklists, and stakeholder-engaged action planning to mitigate water use, air quality impacts, waste management, energy consumption, and green space management. Building on this, the research extends to advanced analytical methods for quality control in beverages using FTIR-ATR with PCR/PLS2 modeling, achieving rapid, cost-effective detection of ethanol and methanol to support preliminary quality assessments against GC references. In another stream, the researcher assesses microplastic contamination in bottled water and in bees as bioindicators, applying FTIR and fluorescence microscopy to quantify particle sizes and compositions, and examining spatial relationships relative to urban influence. Collectively, the body of work advances environmental monitoring, data-driven decision making, and practical, scalable strategies for pollution prevention and sustainability across educational, consumer, and ecological contexts. The methodologies emphasize data preprocessing, multivariate calibration, feature selection, and rigorous statistical validation to ensure robust, actionable outcomes for environmental management and policy guidance.
