Recent research:
The research portfolio consolidates a focus on Psychology, Mental Health, Social Well-being, and Violence Prevention, with a translational emphasis that links lifestyle factors to stress coping during confinement, the neurodiversity and relational dimensions of autism, and the integration of sensory-perception studies with Andean holistic perspectives. The studies underline how healthy family lifestyles relate to constructive coping strategies (problem-solving, positive reappraisal, and religious coping) in the context of COVID-19 lockdowns, while also clarifying core dimensions within autism as a neurodiversity-informed relational framework (language/communication, social-affectivity/relationships, information processing, and sensory perception). A separate line advances transdisciplinary explorations of embodiment, emotion, spirituality, and culture, contrasting Andean integrative worldviews with Western fragmentation to illuminate balance between individual and collective flourishing. The most applied trajectory appears in educational technology for inclusion: a serious game for sexual education and self-care for youths with intellectual disabilities, incorporating a Random Forest classifier to personalize module sequencing, with initial qualitative and quantitative indicators of acceptance. Collectively, the work advances understanding of how lifestyle, neurodiversity, embodied perception, and inclusive technology can support well-being and development across diverse populations, offering both theoretical insights and practical tools for intervention and education.
