Research Interests

Recent research:
Across numerous studies, this researcher engages with how education systems, teaching work, and learning technologies intersect with inclusion, social equity, and professional identity in Latin America. The work analyzes curriculum transformations in Ecuador toward 21st-century citizenship, critiques neoliberal leanings in entrepreneurship and management within teacher education, and documents the pedagogical and emotional impacts of crises (pandemics) on students and teachers. Methodologies span qualitative ethnographies, case studies, and mixed designs to examine online learning, classroom practices, and the socio-affective dimensions of schooling. A recurring focus is on how digital platforms, active methodologies, and reflective practice shape inclusive, meaningful learning, while also critiquing discourses that may reproduce inequality. The collective impact emphasizes preparing educators as researchers and reflective practitioners who navigate crisis contexts, technology integration, and social inclusion with attention to local socio-cultural realities in Ecuador and Latin America.
