Research Interests

Recent research:
Across diverse contexts, the researcher’s work analyzes how education, technology-enabled learning, and socio-political dynamics shape teacher training, inclusion, and learning environments. The narrative links long-standing pedagogy and formation processes to tangible changes in practice and identity, while interrogating the role of digital tools (gamification, XR, learning analytics) in transforming educational experiences. A regional focus on Caribbean and Latin American settings surfaces how policy, tourism development, and capital investment interact with local communities, ecosystems, and cultural practices. The studies collectively illuminate the tensions between modernization, rural livelihoods, and cultural heritage, offering integrated readings of education, technology, and governance as they influence social change, community resilience, and ethical regulation in education and development contexts. The synthesis emphasizes: (1) the impact of formative programs on professional identity and mission alignment; (2) the implications of tourism, gentrification, and dispossession for coastal and rural ecosystems and communities; (3) the evolution of economic anthropology and its relevance to culture, globalization, and regional development. This consolidated profile highlights a methodological mix of qualitative and quantitative approaches, policy-oriented analysis, and critical interpretation of how education, technology, and socio-economic forces co-create inclusive and sustainable futures.
