Recent research:
The publications converge on how media ecosystems shape and are shaped by social forces, with a focus on television narratives in Ecuador, the intersection of artificial intelligence with media literacy, the visibility and metrics of Latin American journals on scholarly networks, and migration as a social issue portrayed and analyzed through media discourse. Methodologically, the work combines qualitative insights on programming strategies and modernization narratives with bibliometric analyses, co-occurrence and collaboration networks, and social-communication theory. Collectively, the research highlights the centrality of disinformation, digital pedagogy, and media literacy within a techno-social landscape, while also underscoring the need for balanced interdisciplinary approaches and strategic communication to enhance visibility and critical understanding of media phenomena in Latin America. The impact lies in mapping emerging hybrid fields, informing policy and industry on programming and modernization narratives, and calling for improved scholarly communication practices to broaden reach and influence in regional contexts.
