Research Interests

Recent research:
The publications collectively explore education as a social, cognitive, and systemic process, emphasizing the central role of family, community, and inclusive pedagogy in shaping learning outcomes, motivation, and critical thinking. A recurrent thread is the integration of active and innovative teaching approaches—ranging from SCAMPER, Project-Based Learning, and STEAM to neuroeducation-inspired connectionist perspectives—that connect theory, practice, and social context to foster adaptive, reflective, and creative learners. Several works analyze nutrition, well-being, and healthy lifestyles as foundational to academic performance, while others investigate the impact of information environments, media literacy, and the interplay between family dynamics and cognitive development. Across high school to higher education, the research highlights the importance of teacher preparation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and technology-enabled equity, including access challenges and strategies to bridge digital gaps in vulnerable contexts. Collectively, the studies advocate evidence-based shifts in curricular design, family engagement, and policy orientations to support lifelong learning, critical thinking, and inclusive education in diverse Ecuadorian and global settings.
