Recent research:
Education management in Ecuadorian higher education is examined as an integrated system of strategic decisions that shapes ethical, pedagogical, technological, and disciplinary dimensions, aiming at continuous institutional improvement and participatory governance. Across multiple works, the research highlights how teacher practice influences student socialization, inclusion versus exclusion, and responses to sociocultural changes, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Methodologies range from qualitative interviews and observations to bibliometric and documentary analyses, linking classroom practices to broader policy, governance, and ethical considerations. A thread throughout is the critical role of educators in fostering inclusive environments, evaluating the impact of educational policies on access, rights, and interculturality, and situating teacher research within professional practice. The synthesized narrative emphasizes learning ecosystems where ICT, gamification, XR, and learning analytics are leveraged to support emancipatory education, while reflecting on ethical commitments and the social responsibilities of academia. The body of work also situates higher education reforms within national policy cycles, comparing progressive and post-progressive eras regarding inclusion and rights. Collectively, the work contributes to understanding how teaching practice, curriculum, governance, and technology converge to promote inclusive, ethical, and socially transformative education in Ecuador.
