Personal profile
Research Interests
The body of work spans educational technology, AI-assisted learning, software engineering methodologies, and cybersecurity. Across publications, the author investigates how advanced AI tools (notably ChatGPT variants and chatbots) impact learning, assessment, and engagement, applying mixed-methods to reveal error causes, feasibility, and student perceptions. A flipped classroom approach integrated with AI-driven feedback and grading demonstrates potential for real-time personalization and scalable, inclusive learning in engineering topics such as Statics. Parallel work in research methods advances the application of grounded theory to software development, including the Glaserian systematic mapping study (GSMS) that merges systematic mapping with Glaserian GT principles and introduces formalized saturation equations. Additional studies address security in IoT and cognitive security, employing Bayesian networks and scenario-based risk analysis; and geospatial methods to improve access to education in Latin America, highlighting equity considerations. Collectively, the research emphasizes responsible integration of AI in education, rigorous qualitative-quantitative analysis, and methodological innovations that bridge AI, software engineering, and security with practical, scalable solutions for learning and inclusion.
