Research Interests
The publications collectively illuminate a comprehensive focus on how higher education, social science, and regional development intersect with digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and community engagement in Ecuador. Across works, the author analyzes the role of social media and marketing in MSMEs, the university–society nexus and its governance, and the use of AI and data-driven methods to enhance policy and educational practice. Methodologies include mixed methods (surveys, focus groups, descriptive statistics, bibliometric and literature review), case studies, historical-sociocultural analysis, and normative reviews of governance and regulation. The research demonstrates how digital tools, local policy, and collaborative university projects can empower women, strengthen local economies, and promote sustainable territorial development, while identifying gaps in policy continuity, monitoring, and cross-sector synergies. The impact lies in informing strategic management of community–university links, improving management curricula with practical engagement, and guiding destination management and tourism diversification with data-informed insights for Cuenca and broader Ecuadorian contexts.
