Recent research:
The body of work integrates education and technology with a focus on inclusive and active learning, learning engineering, and AI-enhanced pedagogy within STEM and ICT-enabled classrooms, while advancing smart grid, wireless sensor networks, and urban electrical infrastructure planning. Across post-pandemic and hybrid contexts, the research investigates how gamification, peer instruction, and flipped learning can boost participation, motivation, and equitable access, paired with TPACK-aligned digital tool integration and data-driven evaluation. Simultaneously, it advances engineering and computer science methodologies for smart metering, EV charging networks, network routing, and energy distribution optimization, including heuristic, graph-based, and MILP approaches applied to real georeferenced urban settings. Together, these studies illustrate a cohesive program to (i) strengthen educational innovation and inclusion through technology and Learning Engineering, (ii) optimize critical infrastructures (smart grids, EV charging, metering networks) with scalable, data-informed methods, and (iii) situate these developments within contemporary societal challenges such as climate impact and post-pandemic modality shifts, demonstrating improved efficiency, resilience, and social equity in both learning environments and urban-energy systems.
