Research Interests
The collected publications present a cohesive program focused on understanding and shaping employability, digitalization, health-conscious behavior, and financial resilience in urban Ecuadorian contexts, particularly Guayaquil. Across diverse methods, the work identifies how structural barriers—education gaps, limited job opportunities, and financial constraints—drive informality and influence youth transitions into formal work, while digital marketing adoption, consumer experiences, and governance considerations shape competitive SMEs. The studies reveal that targeted educational strategies, technical training, and youth-inclusive labor policies can reduce informality and improve outcomes. In health-related consumer behavior, the research highlights barriers to sustainable healthy lifestyles, the nuanced role of social environments and media, and opportunities for ecologically informed marketing and nudges to promote better choices. Finally, the analysis of the shrimp export sector under crisis emphasizes financing constraints, reliance on external funding, and the crucial role of policy and financial support to maintain liquidity. Overall, the impact lies in informing education policymakers, SME owners, and industry stakeholders about integrated strategies—education-to-employment pipelines, digital marketing integration with training, evidence-based public communication, and targeted financial support—to foster inclusive growth and resilient local economies in Ecuador.
