Research Interests
The collection of works presents a cohesive program at the intersection of manufacturing systems, energy systems, automation, robotics, and intelligent sensing. Across workshops and field deployments, the research advances include: (1) predictive maintenance and IoT-enabled monitoring in express mechanical workshops through sensorization and AI-driven data interpretation to reduce costs, energy use, and downtime; (2) intelligent dosage and treatment optimization in drinking water plants using neural networks to minimize dependence on highly trained personnel, with robust evaluation via MAPE and RMSE; (3) aerodynamic and structural optimization of wind turbine components, validating materials and airfoils through MATLAB/Simulink and FAST to enhance power generation in DFIG-based microgrids; (4) fault-tolerant maximum power point tracking for permanent magnet synchronous generators, demonstrated via simulations with fault conditions; (5) hierarchical control and SVPWM-based microgrid inverters showing improved voltage/frequency regulation and power sharing; (6) assistive mobility devices for visually impaired users, including ultrasonic and LiDAR-based cane adapters with user-centered, non-invasive designs and programmable alert modes. Together, the works emphasize practical, data-driven control, reliability, and accessibility, with tangible impact on energy efficiency, safe water treatment, renewable integration, and inclusive technologies.
