Recent research:
The research focuses on advancing sustainable infrastructure and hydraulic engineering through integrated modeling and optimization techniques. A significant portion of the work addresses urban water management, specifically through the design of green-roof rainwater harvesting systems. These systems are engineered to mitigate stormwater runoff, reduce potable water demand, and enhance urban resilience by regulating hydraulic loads during precipitation events. Complementing this, the research explores the reliability of urban drinking water supply networks by conducting unsteady transient flow analyses. By utilizing numerical modeling and adherence to international standards, these studies identify critical pressure points and optimize control device operations to ensure pipeline integrity and long-term system durability. Furthermore, the research incorporates computational approaches to infrastructure planning, specifically through the application of graph theory and heuristic methods to optimize network routing. This framework provides scalable solutions for geographical network design, enhancing the efficiency of connectivity across diverse urban and regional contexts. Together, these efforts contribute to the development of robust, sustainable, and efficient civil engineering systems.
