Research Interests
The author’s body of work integrates Education, Pedagogy, and Inclusion with Educational Technology, Gamification, XR, and Learning Analytics to address practical societal challenges in Ecuador. Across studies, the focus is on promoting inclusive education for vulnerable groups (children and youth) through innovative formats such as educational games and participatory design, while also examining how institutions can drive Digital Transformation and collaborative governance in higher education. Methodologies include Design Thinking, qualitative case studies, documentary analyses, interviews, and comparative experiments, with a consistent emphasis on real-world impact: enhancing knowledge acquisition about healthy eating; identifying credible, influential information sources to support community safety; guiding entrepreneurship and socio-educational interventions for disadvantaged youth; and shaping organizational processes for effective digital transformation in universities. The overarching impact lies in providing replicable design processes, practical guidelines for policy and practice in Latin American higher education, and actionable insights for leveraging collaboration, data analytics, and appropriate pedagogical strategies to improve learning outcomes and institutional effectiveness.
