Research Interests
The research focuses on the intersection of advanced manufacturing, material science, and biomechanical engineering. A significant portion of the work explores additive manufacturing technologies, specifically fused filament fabrication and pellet extrusion, emphasizing the optimization of printing parameters, hardware redesign, and the integration of digital twin modeling to predict mechanical behavior. Complementing this, the research investigates the development of high-performance polymer nanocomposites, utilizing materials like polylactic acid reinforced with carbon nanotubes and halloysite, to enhance mechanical properties for industrial and biomedical applications. Furthermore, the work addresses structural and mechanical engineering challenges, including the design and simulation of transtibial prostheses to improve gait biomechanics, the optimization of industrial processes such as extrusion blow moulding and injection moulding, and the seismic retrofitting of non-structural masonry. Pedagogical contributions also highlight the importance of quality education in advanced manufacturing to meet the evolving needs of the industrial sector.
