La investigación se centra en la intersección de la agricultura sostenible, la ciencia de materiales y el monitoreo ambiental. Una parte significativa del trabajo explora el desarrollo de insumos agrícolas sostenibles, investigando específicamente el uso de macroalgas (como Kappaphycus alvarezii) y bioles artesanales para mejorar la productividad de los cultivos, estimular respuestas fitoquímicas y reducir la dependencia de agroquímicos sintéticos. Esto incluye la evaluación de la composición bioquímica y el potencial antioxidante de las algas bajo diversas condiciones de cultivo. En el ámbito de las ciencias ambientales, la investigación aborda la mitigación de la contaminación por metales pesados, examinando el papel de la simbiosis micorrícica arbuscular en la fitoestabilización de cadmio en plántulas de cacao y cuantificando la bioacumulación de metales pesados en bivalvos marinos para evaluar riesgos de salud pública. Además, el trabajo se extiende a la ciencia de materiales, demostrando métodos innovadores para sintetizar grafeno a partir de residuos agrícolas, específicamente cascarilla de arroz, mediante procesos térmicos optimizados.
