Research Interests
Across a diverse Ecuadorian program of studies in psychology and public health, the author(es) consolidate a coherent focus on measuring, validating, and applying psychometric instruments to understand social well-being, violence, family dynamics, aging, and mental health. The work advances through robust instrument development (BSSD-4, VES, CPV-Q, ACCF-ASF, ACE-ASF, DVQ-VP, Coparenting Scale, CES-D, CPV-Q, CRSI, Holland Vocational Interests), rigorous validations including factorial, convergent, discriminant validity, and invariance by sex and age, and meta-analytic and systematic review methods. Methodologically, the research blends CFA/IRT-style analyses, network approaches, invariance testing, and reliability metrics (Cronbach’s alpha, McDonald’s omega, CR, AVE). Thematically, it spans social desirability, exposure to violence, child-to-parent violence, dating violence, family functioning, caregiver and ICU family experiences, aging and cognitive health, suicide risk, and the impact of digital tools on clinical psychology. The impact appears to be establishing valid, reliable, context-specific tools for Ecuadorian youth, families, and older adults, enabling targeted prevention, screening, and intervention, and informing policy and clinical practice in Latin America.
