The Built Environment, City and Territory Research Group (GIECYT) is dedicated to advancing knowledge of architecture and urban planning through innovative research that faces the challenges of development, territory and interculturality in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Its mission focuses on the co-creation of sustainable and equitable projects that transform conditions of exclusion in urban design, promoting citizen participation and the empowerment of teachers. The group's vision is to consolidate itself as a reference both nationally and internationally in architectural and urban research, generating knowledge that responds to the emerging needs of society. GIECYT seeks to be a space for transdisciplinary dialogue that promotes innovation in territorial planning and sustainable development, as well as social inclusion in the region.
