The mission of the Biotechnology Research Group Applied to Natural Resources (BIOARN) is to promote research through advanced techniques such as molecular isolation and identification, in vitro tissue culture and plant breeding of species in Ecuador. Its vision focuses on establishing a professional and ethical model that integrates ancestral knowledge and natural wealth, promoting the active participation of students and teachers in innovative projects. Furthermore, the group is committed to revaluing natural resources through biotechnological research that addresses the improvement of crops, the discovery of new drugs and the conservation of the environment, always seeking a harmonious balance between science and nature.
