The Research Group on Missions and Indigenous Peoples (GIMPI), convenes a series of researchers who seek to understand the complex relationships between the indigenous peoples of the Amazon and the churches, Catholic or Protestant, whose presence in indigenous territories took the form of missions. The Group is interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary because it takes into account history, sociology, communication, anthropology and theology as well as the critical and propositional accumulation of indigenous historical reflection and experience.
