El Grupo de Investigación IDEIAGEOCA se dedica al desarrollo de infraestructuras de datos espaciales, integrando tecnologías de Sistemas de Información Geográfica, Inteligencia Artificial y Computación Aplicada. Su misión es convertirse en un referente científico en estos campos, priorizando la integración de plataformas de hardware y software para ofrecer servicios y procesar datos de manera eficiente. El grupo, conformado por docentes de la Sede Quito, aborda problemáticas como los riesgos antrópicos y naturales, el cambio climático y la falta de accesibilidad a la información geoespacial, que afecta tanto a la toma de decisiones como a la gestión de recursos en áreas vulnerables. Se destaca la necesidad de una investigación multidisciplinaria que permita una mejor comprensión y gestión de los desafíos actuales en el ámbito geoespacial.
