Organization profile

The Research Group "Education and Interculturality" (GIEI) of the Salesian Polytechnic University seeks to respond, on the one hand, to the lines of research determined by the institutional priorities, in this case: education, interculturality and youth. On the other hand, it is committed from its research to the constitutional normative framework, the public policies in force in the country and the National Plan for Good Living 2013-2017. From Latin America, the GIEI seeks to rethink, on the basis of critical research practice, the ways of producing knowledge and know-how from a non-Western perspective, the practices of socialization and education in the peoples and nationalities of the indigenous world, the training of intercultural teachers, and the educational inclusion of indigenous youth in higher education. It has various research and production backgrounds with respect to these issues and maintains strong links with networks such as Estrado (Latin American Network of Studies on Teaching Work), Clacso (Latin American Council of Social Sciences) and inter-university agreements (University of Ferrara, University of Catamarca).
