The Business Management Research Group (GIGE) aims to increase the value contribution of SMEs from the Azuay province to the GDP through scientific research focused on identifying management challenges and developing solutions; its members possess consolidated skills and publish results in high-impact journals that contribute to business growth. The group fosters competitiveness by seeking new development schemes and management systems with an integrative vision that coordinates actors across value chains, promoting associativity (agglomerations, clusters, industrial districts, etc.) as a strategy to raise productivity and market positioning. Its objective is to define an innovative, context-appropriate management model for Azuay's small and medium enterprises, contributing to the transformation of the productive matrix in alignment with the philosophy of buen vivir.
