The Advanced Computing and Data Research Group (GICAD) at the Salesian Polytechnic University is dedicated to generating and transferring reliable and reproducible knowledge in data engineering, computational optimization, and intelligent systems, aimed at solving relevant challenges in education, industry, and the public sector. Its mission emphasizes ethics, security, transparency, and open science, developing secure data architectures, advanced algorithms, and intelligent software with a focus on explainability and auditability. GICAD's vision is to consolidate its position as a national leader in secure data engineering, graph-based optimization, and explainable systems, distinguished by its scientific rigor, effective technology transfer, and ethical commitment to the use of artificial intelligence. The group promotes talent development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and strategic alliances, as well as institutionalizing governance and security practices with an open laboratory that facilitates innovation. Its work contributes to strengthening regional competitiveness, technological sovereignty, and public trust, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals and fostering an inclusive and responsible culture in applied research.
